HAPPY FRIDAY!!

Gosh, between being sick all week and my mean old boss still making me work, I've had very little time for computer fun. I've been reading and keeping up with you guys, just not commenting a lot or doing much posting myself. I've been doing a little crochet, and I'll get those pictures posted this weekend. But, my primary reason for posting today is to share with you some pictures of my daughter, Ryanne.

Ryanne's daddy lost his battle with colon cancer two years ago. Since that time, she has been growing her hair out in order to donate it to "Locks of Love", in honor of her daddy. As of Wednesday, I thought she might be on the verge of backing out, as she told me how nervous she was and that the anxiety was making her nauseated.

Well, she definitely wanted to go through with it, so I went with her yesterday to be her hand-holder and her official photographer. Following are some photos to help describe her experience:

LOCKS OF LOVE REQUIRES 10 INCHES
OF "VIRGIN", UNTREATED HAIR

MIGHT AS WELL USE THE SHEARS!

NO TURNING BACK!

I'M GOING TO VOMIT!

NOT SO BAD!

I'LL SURVIVE!
Ryanne's proud papa is looking down on her now with a big smile on his face, knowing what a sweet and thoughtful little girl he raised. Oh, okay, I guess I'll take a smidgeon of credit for that, too. She really is a blessing to all of us who know and love her.

Love you, Baby Girl!

  1. What a neat thing for her to do! And it's great that you were there with her to document it and support her. Her new hairdo looks great.

  8. Yay for Ryanne! She did a brave thing, hair is soooo important to a woman, I love the fresh look. My brother is a 3 year colon cancer survivor and my mother a breast cancer survivor; so I really value the contribution she is making.

  10. A really nice and generous-hearted thing to do because as we all know it isn't 'just hair' it represents a major sacrifice to get the scissors to it like that! She had beautiful hair before and you know what she still does. And as my Mum used to say to me "it will grow" and it will, (if she wants because like I said it's lovely!)
