I mentioned to Beansie that I had made a patriotic tote bag last week, but after seeing her adorable windsock, I was embarrassed to post my plain Jane bag. But, she persisted, so here it is, being modeled by my shy 10-year-old. The tweed and cream bag was made using the yarn that was given to me by my sister's grumpy lieutenant at work. (See my previous post.) Hunter, my daughter, said it looks more like a baby carrier than a tote bag! :) I don't really see the lieutenant carrying this bag, but it's the thought that counts, right? I also made her a very pretty winter scarf with the tweed yarn, plus an orange and black striped Oklahoma State drink koozie. Hopefully she'll know how much I appreciated the gift of yarn.
These are BOTH really cute! I LOVE the red, white, and blue one though! If I may say so, I think you should send the yarn in a PAPER bag, and find an outfit to match your really CUTE bag for tomorrow! (0;

ReplyDeleteGreat Totes! How is Max and Mini? Oh I have Tom 1/2 way talk into another dog. I really really want to adopt a bullie because they are not and easy dog to care for and if your not home all day you should not have a bullie but I am however; truth be told we are allergic to the hair. I thought french bullie which is smaller but still the allergy issue....and I am not a small dog fru fru kinda gal...and I don't like yippers! I must get a dog, I am a much happier person when I have a doggie! Animals do something for your soul your spirit!
ReplyDeleteHi Keri, thanks for your comments and inquiry. I agree with your mom, crochet is sooo much faster and the variety of shapes I can make with so few adjustments is unmatched with knitting. Knitting is for when I want more of a "material" feel. Does that make sense? I enjoy both tremendously because they tie me to my roots with my great grandmother, my grandmother and my sister. I love creating something out of nothing. Have a tremendous Friday.
